Types of Hospice Care

Respite Care (Up to 5 Days)

Provides temporary relief for families by caring for the patient in a contracted nursing home or hospice unit.

General In-Patient Care

Short-term care for patients transitioning to a hospice unit. The physician evaluates when the patient is stable for transfer.

Continuous Care

Short-term (24–48 hours) care provided at home, assisted living, or nursing home. A nurse will stay with the patient to manage symptoms and provide necessary care.

Routine Care

Long-term care provided at home, assisted living, or nursing home. The primary caregiver administers medications and general care.
